2007 Sauvignon Blanc, Estate,
Dry Creek Valley
The Rued Family’s Dry Creek Valley Estate vineyard is located on the northern side of the Valley and is farmed by Richard and son Tom. The Rued Estate Vineyard receives a full measure of sun during the growing season, which ripens the grapes completely.
Tasting Notes and Observations
The delicate coloring of our 2007 Sauvignon Blanc betrays the complex, lovely wine behind the color. The light straw and hint of green in the wine’s color is typical for the grapes we take off this vineyard. But so are the aromas of sweet Ruby Red Grapefruit, hints of verbeena, a slate aroma and its lovely display of peach aroma. The wine is light to medium bodied on the palate with bright, crisp acidity. The flavors of summer peach and Meyer Lemon are enveloped in subtle mineral notes. The wine is fresh and drinking wonderfully now in its youth and we recommend it be drunk while its youth sparkles in the glass and on the palate.
Try pairing it with green salad with pears and spiced walnuts, a baked crotin of goat cheese or grilled prawns.
